Elena Jane "Ellie" Goulding (born 30 December 1986) is an English singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and actress from Lyonshall, Herefordshire. Her career began when she met record producer Starsmith and Frankmusik, and she was later spotted by Jamie Lillywhite, who later became her manager and A&R. After signing to Polydor Records in July 2009, Goulding released her debut extended play, An Introduction to Ellie Goulding, later that year.
Ellie's music began taking shape during college where she got acquainted to electronic music. After two years in university, she was advised to take a break to pursue her music career. She perfected "Wish I Stayed" with Starsmith and Frankmusik and moved to West London. In September 2009, Ellie snatched a recording contract with Polydor Records that released her debut single "Under the Sheets" later that year. For a beginner, Ellie was doing moderately well with the song peaking at number 53 on U.K. Singles chart. In the following months, she was busy touring and promoting her forthcoming debut album with the release of singles "Guns and Horses" as well as "Wish I Stayed".
In support of her second EP, Run Into the Light, she invited a small number of fans through her Facebook pages to run with her in seven different cities on her UK tour, and has announced that she will be doing the same across Europe and the United States.
Goulding ran the inaugural Nike Women Half Marathon in Washington, D.C. on 28 April 2013, earning a time of 1:41:35.
Goulding began dating Radio 1 presenter Greg James in August 2010, meeting at one of Goulding's gigs; the couple broke up in December 2011. Goulding met American dubstep DJ Skrillex after recording a song with him; they had a relationship from February to November 2012, but they split, citing the long-distance. Ellie then had brief relationships with actor Jeremy Irvine, and afterward with British musician Ed Sheeran.

I wonder if that's the case with a lot of my songs. I feel like I write songs for the future or something. Not in an arrogant way, but I feel like maybe my songs were, like, before their time or something.
When I sing along with Britney Spears, I will sing in an American accent. But, eventually, I found my own voice. My songs are so brutally honest, it would be alien to sing in any accent other than my own. Don't get me wrong - I can imitate singers. I can do bar mitzvahs and weddings.
Her hair was curly when her album 'Lights' was released but she has changed her style to straight when she has released her album 'Halcyon'. You can dye your her in a platinum blonde or light blonde color and you could also pull your hair on the back of your ear (if you have long hair).
- Her voice is regarded as unique as she changes a note very quickly such as her song: 'Figure 8'. To practice her throaty/echoey voice you should sing as calmly as possible with expressions from your face. When changes notes from high to low you should feel your throat moving. Compare your singing with her's.
- She has the ability to use soprano which is the highest vocal range fro females. If you are a male just calmly sing at your highest note. It should obviously be much easier for a girl. Just relax when singing.
